Shane Murphy, a senior at Hunter College High, joins DyeStat editor Doug Binder to discuss Saturday's Nike New York Regional at Bowdoin Park in Wappingers Falls. Murphy, who lives near Central Park in Manhattan and trains there every day, placed second at the New York Federation meet and is one of the leading candidates to qualify as an individual for NXN. A top-five finish Nov. 25 will guarantee a spot at nationals. Two of his teammates, Henry Koike-Sieira and Isaac Cohen, are also racing for top finishes.
